The E-2 Investor Visa program allows foreign nationals from treaty nations that have an agreement of commerce and navigation with the U.S., to travel to the United States for a temporary period of time for purposes of investment in a new or existing business venture. To qualify for this visa classification the treater investor must invest a substantial amount of capital in the business. The amount of capital to be invested depends on the type of business the investor is planning to undertake.

If you are currently in the United States in lawful nonimmigrant status such as H-1B or B-1, you may file Form I-129 to request a change of status to E-2 classification.Applying Outside the U.S.
If you are outside of the United States, you may apply for the E-2 visa classification at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv.
